About

Thomas Clarkson Community College is in Wisbech, pronounced wis-beach. Wisbech, 'Capital of the Fens', is a market town in the Fenland area of Cambridgeshire with a population of 20,000. The tidal River Nene runs through the centre of the town and is spanned by two bridges. Wisbech is twinned with Arles in France.

Thomas Clarkson Community College (formerly the Queens School, which itself was the amalgamation of the Queens Girls and Queens Boys school) opened in the summer of 2007. The College is in its second year of Fresh Start status and had its second successful Ofsted monitoring visit in October 2008. We are currently working hard through the Building Schools for the Future programme to be ready to move into new buildings during 2012.

Our Acting Head Teacher, Miss Maureen Strudwick, took over from John Bennett in July 2008.
